EthioLease Donates 1.6mln Birr to Ethiopia’s COVID-19 Response

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethio Lease, the first foreign-owned leasing company handed over 1,680,000.00 Birr to the Corona Virus Mitigation Trust Fund supporting the Ethiopian government’s efforts in battling the Coronavirus pandemic.

In response to government’s appeal, Ethiopia’s private sector has been playing a vital role in making financial and material support that would help the ongoing efforts to contain the spread of corona pandemic (COVID-19).

Ethio Lease made the financial donations in support of the endeavour in the fight against the pandemic.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ethio Lease, Girma Wake, together with the CEO of Ethio Lease, Ato Girum Tsegaye, handed over the financial support at a ceremony held in the compound of the Ministry of Peace.

Girma said Ethiopia’s concern “is our concern”.

“This donation is a demonstration of our commitment in supporting the government’s efforts in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic,” he added.

Ethio Lease is a subsidiary of Africa Asset Finance Company Inc. (AAFC), a US-headquartered firm that owns and operates a group of companies that provide asset backed lending (ABL) and leasing services throughout Africa. Ethio Lease began operations in August 2019 after receiving licence from the National Bank of Ethiopia.
