ADDIS ABEBA –Dire Dawa city has reported all the three cases of coronavirus in Ethiopia today, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 111.
Over the past twenty-four hours, the Ministry of Health has tested a total of 396 people for coronavirus in the past twenty-four hours.
“Of these, three of them have confirmed positive for COVID-19,” the ministry said in its daily report.
Authorities described the latest victims of COVID-19 – a respiratory disease caused by coronavirus – as teenagers and Ethiopian nationals.
Two of the patients – 11 and 15 years old residents of Dire Daw – have been in quarantine upon their return from neighboring Djibouti while the other patient – an 18 years old man – contacted the virus from the previously confirmed case, according to the ministry.
The newly confirmed cases have increased the number of patients in treatment centers to 90. To date, sixteen patients have recovered from the virus while three died of the virus.
