ADDIS ABEBA – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has started his official state visit to Guinea-Conakry on Tuesday.
“The visit will contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries,” said the prime minister office in a statement.
The Guinea Republic President Alpha Conde made an official state visit to Ethiopia in 2019, during which various cooperation agreements were signed between the two countries, in the areas of education, health, financial management, agriculture and culture, and tourism.
Prime Minister Abiy is expected to hold a similar discussion with President Conde on bilateral issues today.
PM Abiy will also pay an official visit to South Africa from 11-12 January 2020, according to state-affiliated media FBC.
The visit aims to strengthen the diplomatic relations between the two countries and elevate their ties to a strategic level. During his visit, the Prime Minister will meet with South African officials and Ethiopian nationals residing there.
