ADDIS ABEBA – Twenty-two suspects have been arrested in connection with a hand grenade attack at the police camp in Burayu town, said Oromia regional communication bureau.
Nine people sustained minor injuries in the attack that occurred on Thursday at 7:30 pm local time in a town located in the outskirt of Addis Ababa, said the Bureau in a statement issued on Friday.
A police officer who sustained a minor injury received medical care at the camp and then discharged on the same day, it said.
The remaining eight individuals, including a female cook at the camp, have been taken to Police Hospital in Addis Ababa where they received treatment, it added.
Police have so far arrested 22 suspects linked to the attack, the regional communication bureau told state run news agency ENA.
No group has said it was responsible for the attack.
The suspects reportedly have connections with the military wing Oromo Liberation Front (OLF). The group is often blamed by the government for insecurities in the southern and western parts of Oromia regional state.
