ADDIS ABABA – National Examination agency said aptitude exam has been remarked and will release the results online on Saturday afternoon.
A technical glitch has been blamed for wrong Scholastic Aptitude, which led many students to vent their frustrations at the ministry of education.
Minister of Education Tilaye Gete on Tuesday said the ministry received complains about Scholastic Aptitude Test result and tasked National Educational Assessment and Examination Agency (NEAEA) to look into it.
The error happened after incorrect codes fed to the machine that marks the aptitude exam, said Araya G/Egziabher, NEAEA director, speaking to The Daily Monitor.
Aptitude exam results of close to 160,000 students or half of the exam takers had to be remarked due to a technical glitch, according to the director.
“We don’t have any issues in the other exams marking process,” he said. The agency said students are filling complaint forms for the results of other subjects to be reviewed.
But the agency said it has only found problems on efforts to mark aptitude exam. “We have received their complaint but it will be hard to look every single case one by one because it is common year to year,” said the director.
