At least 20 Died in Borena Zone Traffic Accident

At least Twenty people were killed and 32 more injured in a bus crash in southern Ethiopia.

The accident occurred in Teltale district of Oromia regional state’s Borena Zone, local communication officials say.

Eighteen of those who are hurt have sustained serious injuries. The injured have been taken to hospitals in Teltale and Wolaita for treatment.

The public bus was traveling from a small town called Milami to a nearby village when it veered off the road, the officials said.

France’s Orange withdraws from Process to Buy Stake in Ethio Telecom

French telecoms firm Orange pulled out of the process to purchase up to 45% stake in state-owned Ethiopian operator Ethio Telecom, Reuters news agency reported citing the company.

Orange submitted an expression of interest in 2021 to participate in the partial privatization of Ethio Telecom.

“Orange confirms that it has decided to withdraw from the ongoing process regarding the sale of 45% of Ethio Telecom,” Reuters quoted the telco as saying.
