Halala Kella Resort Handed over to South Western Ethiopia Region

ADDIS ABABA – Halala Kella Resort has been officially handed over today to the South Western Ethiopia Regional State.

The resort is a part of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s ‘Dine For Ethiopia’ initiative and a component of the Koysha cluster.

The PM office transferred the resort to the South West Ethiopia region on Thursday- a month after PM Abiy officially inaugurated the hospitality center.

The regional state has already entered into an agreement with Paradise Lodges Resorts and Hotels Management PLC to manage and operate the resort.

The company will operate the resort under the brand identity ‘Halala Kella Resort’.

Located in the Dawro Zone of the region, the resort is built with a design that incorporates both indigenous and modern architectural styles.

It also has presidential and modern bedrooms, facing a man made lake behind the Gibe III Hydropower plant.

The Abiy administration introduced the Dine for the Nation initiative in August 2020 after similar projects in Addis Ababa became a reality.

The initiative managed to raise a 4.2 billion Birr fund to cover the construction cost of Koysha and two other similar projects in Wonchi and Gorgora.
