Ethiopian Airlines Launches Direct flight to Atlanta, Georgia

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopian Airlines on Tuesday inaugurated a direct flight between Addis Ababa and the City of Atlanta, Georgia, increasing its U.S. passenger flight destinations to fifth.

Atlanta city Mayor Andre Dickens joined the Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew at Bole Airport for the inaugural direct flight.

The Airlines has deployed the 315-seat Boeing 787-9 on the four times weekly flight service to Atlanta, a home to several Ethiopian diaspora and African Americans.

Group CEO Mesfin said the flight will serve as a bridge for cooperation between the two cities by facilitating tourism, trade, investment and cultural exchanges.

Mayor Dickens expressed optimism about potential business prospects between Addis Ababa and Atlanta.

The mayor also noted that the City of Atlanta will continue to explore the Ethiopian market and invest in a wide range of business opportunities.

Ethiopian airlines have been connecting the U.S. and Africa for 25 years now.

Atlanta is now Ethiopian Airlines’ 5th passenger destination in the U.S. following Chicago, Newark, New York, and Washington.
