PM says thanks to Outgoing Federal Supreme Court Chiefs

ADDIS ABABA – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed says thanks to the outgoing president and vice President of the Federal Supreme Court of Ethiopia for their services

The PM met the outgoing Chief Justice Meaza Ashenafi and her deputy Solomon Areda at his office on Monday.

“Ethiopia thanks the outgoing President and Deputy President of the Federal Supreme Court for their service to the nation,” Abiy said in a tweet.

“I wish them well in the path ahead,” the Prime Minister added.

Meaza and Solomon resigned from their post after serving for four years as Federal Supreme Court chiefs.

Last week, the Premier appointed Tewodros Mihret Kebede and Ms. Abeba Embiale Mengiste as the President and Vice President of the Federal Supreme Court, respectively.

The lower house of the Ethiopian parliament endorsed both appointments in a session held on January 17, 2023.
