Amb. Misganu Appointed as State Minister of Foreign Affairs 

ADDIS ABABA – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has appointed Ambassador Misganu Arega as the State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.

Ambassador Misganu’s appointment becomes effective as of Tuesday, January 10, 2023, according to the Ministry of Foreign affairs.

Prior to his new post, he served as Chief Executive Officer of the Ethio-Engineering Group for a year, beginning Dec 2021.

Ambassador Misganu welcomed his latest assignment.

“Once again an opportunity to serve my people and government in a new capacity. I am humbled by the trust bestowed on me,” he said in a tweet.

“I will deliver to the best of my ability to advance the national interest of our great Nation.”

Misganu previously served as state minister of Trade and Industry as well as chief of staff of the Prime Minister.

He was Ethiopia’s ambassador to the State of Qatar and the UAE between 2013 to 2017.
