PM Abiy Holds Talks with US National Security Advisor

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Tuesday held talks with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in Washington.

Prime Minister Abiy is currently in Washington for the 2022 US-Africa leaders summit – a three-day summit hosted by President Joe Biden to discuss how the US and African nations are strengthening our partnerships to advance shared priorities.

Ahead of the summit today, the PM Office said Abiy held a “constructive discussion” with the US National security advisor on various issues, describing it as constructive.

The issues raised include the implementation of cessation of hostilities, political and economic reform initiatives of the government of Ethiopia

They also spoke about revitalizing the bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and the United States.

“Our constructive discussions have also focused on strengthening the historical bilateral relations between our two nations,” the PM said in a tweet.
