Unity Parking Lot in Addis Ababa Begins Operation

ADDIS ABABA – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Unity Parking built at the center of Addis Ababa today.

The facility is also linked with a 105 meters long tunnel below ground that leads into Unity Park at the Grand Palace, making it suitable for visitors planning a day trip to leave their cars in the underground parking.

“The Unity Parking, which was inaugurated today, is one of our nation’s reflections that reveal the future of Ethiopia,” PM Abiy said. “We are committed to leave such a legacy for future generations.

The multifunctional building complex offers an efficient and secure parking station for more than 1000 vehicles distributed across 4 basements, including disability-accessible slots, said the PM Office

Constructed on 1.2 hectares of land, Unity parking has various facilities including an elevator for vehicles.

The facility is also equipped with more than 200 monitoring camera-backed systems that can also identify the car plate number and their owners providing modern payment and security services.
