Lelise Replaces Abebe as head of Investment Commission

ADDIS ABEBA – Lelise Neme has replaced Abebe Abebayehu as head of the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC).

Abebe announced his resignation from the top post at the Commission saying it was due to “purely personal reasons” on Monday.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed replaced him with a 27-year old Lelise who was working as executive director of Industrial Parks Development Corporation.

“We warmly welcomed this morning our newly appointed Commissioner Lelise Neme,” said Abebe after handing over his office to her on Wednesday.

“Senior management and advisors gave her status updates and briefings on the major works of EIC,” he said. “I wish you a very successful tenure and commit to provide support for smooth transitioning”.

On her twitter post, Lelise has extended her gratitude to Abebe “for the warm welcome and briefing”.

“I’d like to continue working with the same spirit&commitment to continue these achievements,” she said.
