Bahir Dar University graduates 252 Healthcare workers

BDU Graduates 252 Health Care Providers including Specialist Doctors

ADDIS ABABA – Bahir Dar University has graduated 252 healthcare providers in various fields of medicine and health science.

The commencement ceremony for BDU’s college of medicine and health sciences took place at Tibebe Hall on Saturday.

State Minister of Health Dr. Ayele Teshome, academic and management staff of the University joined the graduating students and their families in the ceremony.

The commencement honored 27 students in medicine of specialty, 13 in Master of Health Science and 182 in undergraduate with degrees.

The University says 76 of the total graduates who recited the oath today are female.

In his speech, State Minister Dr. Ayele strongly urged the graduates to keep the oath they took today while serving their patients in the next chapter of their life.

The ceremony saw two students recognised for their top academic performance.

Metmiku Yohannis of the Nursing school came out top of his graduating class to win a medal after graduating with 4 Grade Point Average (GPA).

Mahider Addis who graduated with 3.9 GPA from School of Pharmacy honored with a certificate.

Without including today’s graduates, a total of 4242 students have been graduates from the BDU’ College of Medicine and Health Sciences.

These graduates involve 238 in medicine speciality, 8 PhD, and 1, 013 medical doctors.
