Ethiopian Wins Multiple Awards, Moves 11 Ranks Up in World’s Top 100 Airlines

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest Aviation Group, has been named the winner of four awards at the SKYTRAX 2022 World Airline Awards.

Travelers across the world vote in the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to decide the award winners, referred to by media globally as “the Oscars of the aviation industry”.

In the award ceremony held in London today, Ethiopian has taken the crown for Best Airline in Africa 2022 for the 5th consecutive year, and Best Business Class Airline in Africa 2022 for the 4th consecutive year,

The airline has also received the Best Economy Class Airline in Africa 2022 for the 4th consecutive year and Best Business Class Onboard Catering in Africa awards.

Moving an incredible 11 ranks up, Ethiopian has also been placed 26th in the World’s Top 100 Airlines for 2022 as voted by airline customers around the world.

“We are truly honored by the multiple prestigious awards that Ethiopian won today,” said Ethiopian group CEO Mesfin Tasew.

Mesfin expressed his “great pleasure to witness such a rewarding event to the hard work Ethiopian Airlines employees and management team put in order to provide our valued passengers the best quality service.”

The World Airline Awards are independent and impartial, introduced in 1999 to provide a customer satisfaction study that was truly global.

Ethiopian commands the lion’s share of the Pan African passenger and cargo network operating to more than 130 international passenger and cargo destinations across five continents.
