Ethiopia adds 25 Covid Cases, 17 Recoveries

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 25 new cases of Covid-19 as 17 patients recovered from the disease in the last twenty-four hours, said the Ministry of Health on Saturday evening.

The patients diagnosed with the Coronavirus today bring the nation’s confirmed cases tally to 492, 960.

The 17 recoveries has also taken the cumulative number of peope recuperated from the respiratory disease, so far, to 471,285, the report indicates.

There are now 14, 102 confirmed active cases in the country. At least fourteen of them are seriously sick and are receiving medical treatment in the hospital, the report claims.

During the reported period, the nation has not recorded Covid-related fatalities as the number of days without covid death to six.

At least 7,571 people have passed away due to the Coronavirus since the first Covid-related death was confirmed in Ethiopia on April 5, 2020.

Health officials are still advising the public to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves from the respiratory disease as the covid vaccine drive slows down in the past few days.

Ethiopia, which started its Covid-19 vaccination campaign in March last year, has administered nearly 52.6 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, so far.

More than 43.13 million people have also received at least two shots of the vaccine, the Ministry of health report shows.
