Covid-19: Ethiopia Logs 41 More Cases, 0 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 41 more Coronavirus cases in the last twenty-four hours, bringing the confirmed total to 492, 932, according to the Ministry of health health.

In Covid-19 report issued on Friday evening, the Ministry said only 31 patients diagnosed with covid-19 have recovered today. The recovery count currently stands at 471, 268.

The nation now has 14, 094 confirmed active cases.

A seriously sick covid-19 patient has been admitted to hospital today, taking the cumulative number of severe cases to 14.

The nation has recorded no Coronavirus related fatality in the reported period.

This has brought the number of days without Covid death to five.

The acute respiratory disease, however, has claimed the lives of 7,571 people since the first death was confirmed on April 5, 2020.

The report also shows that the Covid-19 vaccine drive has stagnated with data regarding the campaign remaining unchanged today.

Ethiopia started offering the Covid-19 vaccine to its citizens in March 2021.

Since then, nearly 52.6 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been administered. More than 43.1 million people have also received at least two shots of the vaccine.

Health officials plan to increase the nation’s immunization coverage to 60 percent by the end of 2023.
