Ethiopia Adds 41 New Covid Infections

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has registered 41 more Covid-19 cases and zero related deaths in the last twenty-four hours, according to a ministry of health update for Wednesday.

The newly identified covid-19 infections have brought the confirmed total in the country to 492, 631.

The recovery count has also reached 470,869, after only 21 recuperated from the disease today.

Currently, there are 14,191 active cases of Covid-19 in the country where the total number of severely sick patients has stabilized for a week.

At least 21 seriously ill Covid patients are still getting treatment in medical centers, according to the Ministry of health.

It also said no Coronavirus-related fatalities have been confirmed in the past 24 hours.

The country last recorded a covid related death was on Friday, August 4, 2022. The respiratory disease has so far claimed the lives of at least 7,569 people.

The public is being urged to be vigilant about the virus as well as get vaccinated against the Coronavirus to keep themselves and their loved ones safe.

Today’s report, however, shows that the vaccination campaign has stalled with figures mentioned indicating no changes.

Ethiopia started offering the Covid-19 vaccine to its citizens in March, 2021.

To date, it has administered more than 52.56 million doses of the vaccine, while over 43.1 people getting at least two shots of the vaccine.
