Ethiopia Logs 41 More Covid Infections

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia on Monday reported 41 more fresh Covid-19 infections and zero related fatalities, according to the ministry of health report.

The nation’s confirmed infections total has now reached 492, 279.

At least 469,717 of these patients have regained their health, said the ministry, after adding only 19 recoveries on the day.

Currently, there are 14, 993 confirmed active cases of Covid-19 in the country. And 24 of them are severely sick and are getting treatment in hospitals, the report said.

Health officials confirmed zero Covid fatalities for six consecutive days. The Coronavirus related death toll stays at 7,568

However, the public is still urged to remain vigilant about the pandemic and get the covid vaccine shot to keep themselves and their loved ones safe.

Health authorities, who started the ongoing vaccine drive last year in March, plan to reach 60% national COVID-19 vaccination coverage by the end of 2023.

To date, Ethiopia has administered more than 52.55 million doses of the covid vaccine. Over 43.1 million people have also been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
