Coronavirus: Ethiopia Records 37 New Cases, Zero Fatalities
ADDIS ABABA – The Ministry of Health has reported 37 fresh Covid-19 cases and zero deaths as the daily recovery rate in Ethiopia improves.
Over 4, 600 people have been tested for Conorovirus to confirm the latest positive infections, according to the report.
The report says the nation has seen zero Covid-19 fatalities in the reported period, helping the death toll to stay at 7, 510.
It also shows that the active cases total has dropped below 9, 000 after at least 492 patients recuperated from the disease in the report.
Today’s recovery total is the highest that the country has observed in the past two weeks.
However, the status of severe cases has remained unchanged. Fifteen seriously sick patients Covid-19 are still in the hospitals, the report says.
– Vaccine Drive at Standstill –
The Ministry conducted two rounds of nationwide Covid-19 vaccination campaigns, which increased coverage significantly.
In the past few weeks, however, the vaccination pace has stagnated. Today’s report also shows that not a singe shot of Covid-19 vaccine has been given in the last 24-hours.
Ethiopia has administered over 29.41 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, so far. More than 24.5 million Ethiopians are also fully vaccinated against the virus.
Health officials confirmed the nation’s first Coronavirus case in March, 2020. Since then, they have reported 470, 389 infections, and 454, 163 recoveries.
