Ethiopia Registers 456 New Covid Cases, 11 Fatalities
ADDIS ABABA – The Ministry of health on Thursday reported 456 fresh cases of Covid-19 and 11 related fatalities in Ethiopia.
The fresh cases figure, identified from 7,758 tests conducted within twenty-four hours, puts Ethiopia’s confirmed cases tally at 463, 921.
Additional 11 Coronavirus-induced deaths have also been reported in the same day, bringing the national death toll to 7,303, say.
As many as 1,334 patients have also recuperated from the acute respiratory disease, says the report. The recovery tally currently stands at 395,364.
The active cases number continues to drop as the country registers more recovery than fresh daily infections. The tally has dropped by 889 to 61, 252 as compared to the previous day.
There are now 316 seriously sick and receiving medical treatments in hospitals.
The ministry of health is strongly urging the public to observe the Covid protocols put in place including wearing face masks and getting vaccinated.
Its vaccination campaign started on March 13, last year, has seen 10,972, 564 doses of vaccine administered nationwide.
The ministry said more than 9.37 million people have also been fully vaccinated.
