Ethiopia Reports 148 New Coronavirus Cases, 11 Fatalities

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia’s confirmed Covid-19 cases tally has reached 367, 210 after its ministry of health reported 148 new infections on Sunday.

A further 11 Coronavirus-induced fatalities and 276 recoveries have also been recorded in the past twenty-four hours, taking the death toll to 6, 542 and recoveries count to 343, 107, shows the Ministry’s report.



There are now 17, 559 active cases nationwide. Of which, the report says, 421 of them are severely sick patients.

Health officials have continued to push ahead with its immunization campaign on Sunday.

The report reveals over 12, 000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the 24-hours period.

Ethiopia started vaccinating its citizens on March 13, 2021. Since then, it has fully vaccinated a total of 3, 664, 112 people against Covid-19 while offering more than 5 million doses.

The ongoing vaccination campaign, which involves Johnson & Johnson, AstaraZeneca, Pfizer and Sinopharm, targets to inoculate about 22 million people against Covid-19 by January.
