Finance Minister Discusses Digital Transformation with Founder of Cardano

ADDIS ABABA – Minister of Finance Ahmed Shide and his team conferred with the founder of Cardano and co-founder of Ethereum, Charles Hoskinson, on Thursday, according to the ministry of finance.

During the discussions, the Minister highlighted the major economic reforms that are underway in Ethiopia.

He also expressed government’s readiness to incorporate avant-garde technology in areas of Agricultural technology, logistics, and digitization endeavor of Ethiopia.



Hoskinson, on his part, discussed the capacity of Blockchain technology and the various tech solutions provided by Cardano, and the prospect of launching new projects in Ethiopia where the company’s African HQ is located.

Cardano has already established IT education in Ethiopia, enjoying a partnership with the government in the sector with the goal of building a blockchain-based universal student credentialing system.

On the same day, Hoskinson visited the Ministry of Education to discuss the digital transformation of the sector.

“Dropped by the MOE today to discuss the digital transformation of Ethiopia’s educational credentials. Five million students on schedule,”  Hiskinson said in a message posted on twitter.
