Ethiopia Records 386 New Coronavirus Infections, Active Cases Tally Drops
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has registered 388 more novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases and 20 related fatalities on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of health.
The country conducted more than 5, 800 tests in the last twenty-four hours to identify the latest positive infections, says the ministry in its daily Covid-19 report.
A further 20 Covid-19 patients have passed away in the same period, pushing the national death toll to 6, 258.
Decrease in Severe Cases
Currently, there are 23, 287 confirmed active cases nationwide. Of which, 555 of them are severely sick patients, the report claims.
Compared to Monday, the number of both severe and active cases have dropped by nearly 50 and 700, respectively, as the county records more recoveries than new infections.
In the past 24-house, the report says as many as 1, 077 Covid-19 patients have recuperated from the acute respiratory disease.
The recovery count now stands at 330, 334.
Vaccination Drive
Despite today’s positve trend, Health experts are atill urging the public to take the Covid-19 vaccine made available in health centers as well observe the sefty protocols put in place to tackle the pandemic.
Over 12, 500 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the 24-hours period, reveals report, taking the total doses offered so far to 4,048,361.
The East African nation started to inoculate its citizens on March 13, 2021.
To date, it has fully vaccinated a total of 3, 046, 441 people against Covid-19.
