Covid-19: Ethiopia Reports 842 More Infections
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 842 more novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases on Tuesday, pushing the confirmed case tally to nearly 356, 000.
The country identified the latest positive cases after testing a total of 7, 126 people within twenty-four hours, reports the ministry of Health.
About 40 Covid-19 patients have also died due to the acute respiratory disease. The national death toll now stands at 6, 066, according to the report.
Ethiopia now has 24, 787 confirmed active cases, Of which, 715 patients are seriously sick, claims the report.
Only 538 patients have regained their health on Tuesday, says the report, which puts the national recovery tally at 324, 988.
To date, Ethiopia has conducted more than 3.56 million tests and confirmed a total of 355, 843 infections.
Health officials are urging the public to observe the health protocols put in place including wearing face masks, social distancing and proper hand washing while pushing ahead with its national immunization campaign.
More than 19, 600 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been offered in the last 24-hours, data from the Ministry reveals.
The East African nation started vaccinating its citizens on March 13, 2021. Since then, it has vaccinated a total of 2, 993, 304 people against the virus.
