Covid-19: Ethiopia Reports 927 Fresh Cases, 10 Fatalities

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 927 more cases of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) and 10 related fatalities on Monday, the Ministry of Health reports.

In its daily Covid-19 report, the Ministry says 6,535 tests have been tested in the last twenty-four hours to confirm the positive cases.



Ten more people have also lost their lives to the acute respiratory disease in the reported period, bringing the national death toll to 4,571.

Nationwide, the severe case tally has continued to increase with more 26 patients becoming severely ill on Monday.

Currently, there are 510 Covid-19 severely sick patients, reports the ministry. The patients are among the 22,109 active cases in Ethiopia.

In the same period, as many as 1,039 patients have recuperated from the disease as the daily recoveries continued to outgrow fresh cases for the second day in a row.

Ethiopia has been carrying out an immunization campaign at the national level as part of its response to control the pandemic.

Close to 5,700 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in the 24-hours period.

Nationwide, nearly 2.35 million vaccine doses have been administered since the start of the vaccination campaign last March.

Ethiopia, which recorded its first Coronavirus cases on March 13, last year, has conducted more than 3.17mln tests to confirm 296, 731 cases. About 269, 132 of the infected have already recovered.
