COVID-19: Ethiopia Confirms 1, 332 More Infections, 17 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has reported a total of 1, 332 new Covid-19 infections and 17 deaths on Thursday, Ministry of Health reported.

Over 7, 000 people have been tested for the coronavirus over the past twenty-four hours to identify the new positive cases of COVID-19.

The Ministry’s daily covid report for the day claims that 17 people have died due to the virus, pushing the national death toll so far to 2, 483.

At least 428 COVID-19 patients are currently getting medical treatment in hospital beds after they become severely ill, the Covid report shows. These patients are among 27, 885 confirmed active cases in the country.

Over the 24-hours period, health officials have also recorded the recovery of 805 patients from the deadly respiratory disease.

A total of 140, 840 people have so far recuperated from the disease in a country which has confirmed its first coronavirus case on March 13, last year.

To date, the East African nation has conducted more than 2.2mln tests and confirmed 171, 210 infections.
