ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded at least 665 new Covid-19 infections and 14 deaths on Tuesday, its Ministry of Health has reported.
The country tested 6, 164 people for the coronavirus in the day to identify the new positive cases.
Additional 14 people have passed away due to covid-19. At least a total of 2, 223 people has so far died due to the virus since the first COVID-19 related death confirmed in the country on April 15, 2020.
The number of hospitalization remains relatively constant as compared to the preceding day.
Health officials said about 308 patients are now getting medical treatment in various hospitals after they become severely ill. They are among 17, 120 confirmed active cases in the country.
During the same day, the ministry reported nearly 200 patients of the respiratory disease have recuperated, taking the recovery tally in the country to 129, 145.
To date, the East African nation – which confirmed its first coronavirus case on March 13 last year, has tested more than 2mln people and confirmed 148, 490 infections.
