COVID-19: Ethiopia’s Recovery Cases Surpasses 80, 000

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia’s total number of recoveries from COVID-19 has surpassed 80, 000 after the ministry of health reported the recovery of 2, 252 patients.

According to the Ministry, 960 and 1252 patients regained their health after contracting coronavirus on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

To date, 80, 831 patients recuperated from the deadly respiratory illness caused by coronavirus.

The country has registered 649 and 555 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Health officials conducted a total of 1204 tests to identify the new positive cases.

At least 316 patients have been hospitalized after getting severely ill, said the ministry. The parents are among 30, 715 confirmed active cases in Ethiopia.

Health officials also said a total of 15 people have also passed away within the two days due to the Covid-related deaths, bringing the death toll to 1, 747.

Ethiopia confirmed its first coronavirus case on March 13. Since then, health officials have tested nearly 1.7 million people for the virus and confirmed over 113, 295 infections.
