Ethiopia Confirms 560 New COVID-19 Cases, 8 Deaths

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has reported 560 more coronavirus infections on Thursday, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 107, 669.

The country identified the new positive cases after conducting 5, 789 tests over the past twenty-four hours, according to the Ministry of Health’s daily COVID report.



The report noted 8 additional people have died due to Covid-19, pushing the total number of deaths to 1, 672.

At least 327 are in intensive care unit after falling critically ill, reported the Ministry, which put the number of active cases in the country at 38, 994.

Thursday’s report also showed at least 427 patients have recovered from the respiratory disease caused by coronavirus.

To date, more than 67, 000 people have regained their health after contracting the virus.

Ethiopia confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on March 13. Since then, it has conducted over 1.61 million tests, according to health officials.
