Ethiopia Records 345 More Covid-19 Cases, Tally Surpasses 100,000
ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has registered 345 new coronavirus infections on Tuesday, taking the total number of confirmed cases to exceed 100, 000 mark.
In its daily Covid report, the Ministry of Health said the new positive cases identified after the country conducted 4, 360 tests over the past twenty-four hours.
A further 7 patients have passed due to Covid-19 during the period, pushing the death toll to 1, 537.
There are now 37, 272 active cases in the country. Of these patients, 289 patients are severely ill, says today’s report.
Over the past 24 hours, at least 806 patients have recovered from the respiratory disease caused by coronavirus. To date, nearly 61, 516 people have recovered from the disease after contracting the virus, according to the Ministry’s report.
Ethiopia confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on March 13. Since then, health officials have tested more than 1.53 million people for the virus and confirmed 100, 327 cases.
