ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia’s COVID-19 tally has reached more than 94, 000 after Ministry of Health reported 5511 new cases on Tuesday.
The country tested nearly 6000 individuals to identify the new positive cases, the ministry of health said in its daily Covid-19 report.
In the past 24 hours, 8 more people have passed away due to the virus, pushing the death toll to 1, 445.
About 314 people are severely ill, said the ministry, in the country where there are over 43, 800 active cases of COVID-19, a respiratory disease caused by coronavirus.
On the same day, at least 818 patients have recuperated, the daily report said, taking the number of recoveries in the nation so far to more than 48, 968.
The East African country has conducted more than 1.45 million laboratory tests and confirmed nearly 94, 218 cases since health officials identified Ethiopia’s first case on March 13.
