Ethiopia Reports 704 new Coronavirus cases, 3 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia on Sunday reported 704 new coronavirus cases and 127 more deaths, taking the total number of infections to 10, 207, according to the Ministry of Health.

Various countries in the country tested over 7, 334 individuals over the past twenty-four hours, and a daily record number of COVID-19 cases has been registered.

The epicenter of the virus in Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, recorded the majority of Sunday’s cases after identifying 551 COVID-19 patients.

The remaining are from Tigray (39), Oromia (30), Gambella (26), Amhara (21), Sidama (11), Benishangul-Gumuz (5), Afar (3), Harari (3), Somali (3) and SNNP (2) regional states as well as Dire Dawa city (10).

Ministry of Health also reported 3 fatalities, taking the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 to in Ethiopia so far 170.

At least 196 patients of COVID-19 have recovered today, said the ministry, adding that the number of recoveries has reached 5137.

Ethiopia has conducted 331, 266 tests.
