Ethiopia Reports 11 New Cases of COVID-19

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has identified eleven additional cases of COVID-19, reports the ministry of health today.

At least 2424 people have been tested for coronavirus in the past twenty-four hours.

“Of these, eleven people have tested positive for the virus,” says the ministry in its daily report today. The latest figure takes the total number of confirmed cases in Ethiopia to 261.

The majority of the patients (8) have been identified in the Afar Regional State. The rest are from Ataye Town of Amhara region, Mekele City of Tigray region and Jigjiga city of Somali region with each reporting one patient today.

All the patients have travel history and have been in isolation centers, according to the Ministry of Health’s report.

The report also says one patient has recovered from the virus, taking the number of recoveries to 106.
