Ethiopia Records 9 More Cases of Coronavirus

ADDIS ABABA – The number of coronavirus cases in Ethiopia has reached 65 following the confirmation of nine new cases today.

The country has conducted 443 laboratory tests in the past twenty-four hours.


“of this, none of them are confirmed positive for COVID-19 making the total number pf cases sixty-five,” Dr. Lia Tadesse, minister of Health today.

All the patients – five men and four women – were under a mandatory quarantine before they tested positive for the virus.

The ministry’s statement indicates that the youngest is a 20 years-old Indian woman who came from the U.S. while the oldest is a 40 years old Eritrean citizen who came from Dubai.

The remaining seven patients are Ethiopians who came back from Dubai, United Kingdom and Turkey.
