ADDIS ABEBA – The Council of Ministers in its urgent session on Wednesday discussed and passed a decision on the draft regulation that governs salary scale for civil servants.
The bill was tabled by the Civil Service Commission, an autonomous public institution of the Federal Government, on Tuesday for the prime minister Abiy Ahmed’s cabinet discussion.
The regulation mainly determines job evaluation and grading system as well as procedures needed for employees’ placement, salary scale, and pension.
“After a comprehensive discussion, the council has made some amendments and approved the bill,” a statement from Prime Minister Office said.
Wednesday’s meeting ended with the Council deciding for the regulation to come into effect as of July 1, 2019.
