Ethiopia Confirm Venue for Next two Afcon Qualifiers
Ethiopia will play their next two Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifying matches in Côte d’Ivoire, the nation’s football federation announced on Wednesday.
The Walias, without a standard venue to host international games, are playing catch up earlier in their qualifying bid after collecting just a point from the first two Group H matches.
The team hope to revive their chances of qualifying when they face Guinea next month. The two sides would lock horns in back-to-back clashes on 11 and 14 October.
Côte d’Ivoire’s Konan Banny stadium hosts both Matchday three and four of the Afcon qualifiers, according to the Ethiopian Football federation.
Ethiopia sit third in the group H, having played out a goalless draw against Tanzania before their 0-2 loss to DR Congo.
DR Congo top the Group with six points ahead of second placed Tanzania with four points. Guinea are yet to record a point.
