ADDIS ABABA – An Ethiopian Airlines plane skidded off a runway after landing at the Alula Aba Nega International Airport.
All the passengers onboard made it out of the plane safely, according to the airline.
The incident involving bombardier aircraft happened on Thursday at 14:10 Local time.
Ethiopian Airlines later confirmed that flight ET106, which departed Addis Ababa at 12:30 Local time, had a runway excursion after landing in Mekelle.
“All passengers and crew were disembarked safely with no injuries,” the airline said in a statement.
The cause of the incident has not been revealed although some reports alleged that it was due to a flat tire.
“We are conducting investigation to determine the cause of the incident,” the airline said, adding “We sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience encountered.”
