US-Based Eastern Corp Eyes Ethiopian Housing Sector

ADDIS ABABA – Eastern Corporation, a U.S. construction service provider, eyes Ethiopia’s industrial parks to engage in investment activities.

The company expressed its desire to build affordable houses as well as invest in the manufacturing sector, the Industrial Park Development Corporation (IPDC) says.

The IPDC disclosed this after its Chief of Staff Fitsum Ketema held discussions with the CEO of Eastern Corp David Ham on Friday.

The Eastern Corp has a 25-year-long experience in housing, construction of interior design, and project management, per the IPDC. The contruction company completed more than 2000 projects and handed them over to its clients.

Its CEO Ham said his company plans to expand its experience in the housing sector to Ethiopia.

He further announced Eastern Corp’s plan to make its own mark in the sector by investing in Kilinto Industrial Park.

Chief of Staff Fitsum appreciated Eastern Corp’s interest in investing in Kilinto Industrial Park, vowing to provide the necessary support for the company to start operation.

The Industrial Park Development Corporation, a public enterprise, manages twelve state-owned industrial parks, hosting manufacturing companies from a range of countries across the world.
