Seoul Hosts Ethio-Korea Investment Forum

The 2023 Ethio-Korea Investment Forum kicked off in South Korean capital Seoul today under the theme “It is time to invest in Ethiopia.”

The two-day forum aims to showcase the vast potential and opportunities available for Korean companies to invest in the East African nation.

Ethiopia’s Ambassador to South Korea, Dessie Dalkie highlighted the strong historical relations between the two countries and called for these relations to be strengthened through economic exchange.

More than 100 Korean investors and corporate leaders attended the forum to explore the abundant investment potential in Ethiopia.

Deputy Chief of Ethiopian Investment Commission Daniel Teresa briefed the business leaders on the national economic and investment reform initiatives and incentives to participating business leaders.

The investment climate in Ethiopia is favorable, the ongoing economic reform, conducive macroeconomic policy environment, and improved infrastructure make Ethiopia a preferred FDI destination for Korean investors, as per the official.

Speaking at the forum, Vice Chairman of the Korean Federation of Textile Industries Dr. Joo Soryeong recalled in her remarks the historical relations between the two countries.

The association recognizes the potential in Ethiopia and is committed to utilizing opportunities to benefit both countries, Dr. Joo added.

The 2023 Ethio-Korea Investment will continue tomorrow in Busan, the second biggest city in South Korea.
