Kenyan President Ruto Arrives in Addis Ababa for Official Visit

ADDIS ABABA – Kenyan President William Ruto has arrived in Addis Ababa for bilateral talks with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the launch of Safaricom Ethiopia.

Abiy welcomed Kenyan President Ruto upon his arrival at Addis Ababa, Bole International Airport on Thursday morning.

The two leaders are expected to hold talks on bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interests.

“We are exploring new fronts in our relations with Ethiopia to pursue shared interests, especially in the area of technology, for our mutual prosperity,” Ruto said in a tweet.

President Ruto’s official visit to Ethiopia is the first visit after he is elected as president of Kenya.

While in Addis Ababa, Ruto will attend Safaricom Ethiopia’s national launching event.

The telecom company will officially start its service in the capital on Thursday, October 6, 2022
