Ethiopia Adds 30 Covid Cases, Zero Fatalities over the Weekend

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has logged 30 additional Covid-19 infections and zero related deaths in the last forty eight hours, according to the Ministry of health.

The nation’s confirmed tally of Covid-19 has now reached 492,491, the report issued on Sunday evening.

Atleast 49 patients of the Covid-19 have regained their health in the same period, bringing the recovery count to 470,633.

Currently, there are 14, 287 active cases of Covid-19 in the East African nation.

At least 20 severely sick patients are still getting treatment in the hospital, according to the Ministry.

No additional deaths related to Covid-19 has been reported over the weekend as the death toll stays at 7,569.

Despite a drop in severe cases, health officials are still advising the public to take the necessary precautions and get the vaccine shot.

To date, Ethiopia has administered more than 52.56 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Over 43.12 million people have also received at least two doses the vaccine against the virus.

The Ministry of Health has a plan to increase the nation’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage to 60% by the end of 2023.
