Ethiopia Logs 67 New Covid-19 Cases

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has logged 67 more Covid-19 cases and zero related fatality in the last twenty-four hours, a ministry of health report says.

The patients diagnosed with the covid-19 on Wednesday have taken the confirmed tally to 492,046, the report states.

Only 43 recoveries have also been recorded in the reported period, bringing the nation’s recoveries count to 468, 966.

Two seriously sick patients, however, have been released from hospitals today after their conditions improved. There are still 31 severely sick covid-19 patients getting treatment in medical centers.

The patients are among 15,510 confirmed Covid-19 active cases in the country, the report shows.

The country has not recorded any confirmed zero covid-19 related fatalities today. The death toll currently stands at 7,568.

The public is being urged to get themselves vaccinated against the Coronavirus to keep themselves safe.

Close to 11, 000 doses of the covid vaccine have been offered to the public in the last 24 hours, the latest report shows.

This has brought the total vaccine doses administered in Ethiopia to over 52.53 million. About 43.1 million people have also received at least two doses or more of the vaccine

The East African nation, which started its national Covid drive last year in March, plans to expand the national COVID-19 vaccination coverage to 60% by the end of 2023.
