Dashen Bank Inaugurates Tier III Data Center 

ADDIS ABABA –  Dashen Bank has inaugurated a Tier III Data Centre, making it the first private financial institution in Ethiopia to have such a facility.

The bank made a total of 230 million birr investment to build the data center.

The facility was inaugurated on Thursday in the presence of Yinager Dessie, Governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE), as well as board members and officials of Dashen Bank.

The Bank said it has the capacity to support 1,000 servers and other related network equipments, which allows the bank to control the seamless operation of its branches across the country.

It also said the facility enables the bank to operate with almost zero downtime during restoration works but also launch new IT-based banking services to the country at any time, its officials said.

Dashen Bank, one of the largest private commercial banks in Ethiopia, netted 1.73 billion Birr in profits last year, recording a 12 percent growth.
