308 Trucks carrying Food Aid Reach Tigray

ADDIS ABABA – A humanitarian convoy facilitated by the World Food Program (WFP) has arrived in Tigray with food aid, the UN agency said on Saturday.

According to the WFP, the humanitarian convoy that arrived this week is its “largest humanitarian convoy to date”.

The food assistance “will meet the needs of further 800,000 people” in the region, said the WFP.

“After completing recent deliveries,” the UN agency also said it “will start a new 6-week round of food distributions in Afar and Amhara” in the week ahead.
