Ethiopia Registers 443 Covid Cases, 0 Fatalities

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has today recorded 443 new Covid-19 cases, taking the confirmed tally to 475,746, according to a ministry of health report.

Over 4000 people have been tested in the last twenty-four hours to identify today’s positive cases, the report issued on Tuesday evening shows.

Only 42 Covid-19 patients have also recovered in the reported period, bringing the recovery count to 456, 374.

Two patients have also been admitted to the hospital after they become severely sick. There are now fourteen severe cases in the country.

They are among 11, 873 confirmed active cases, according to the ministry of health.

The country has continued to see no Covid-19 disease-related fatalities for the three days in a row. The Covid-19 death toll remains at 7, 515.

The report also provides no additional data regarding the Covid-19 vaccination in the country as the vaccine drive stands still.

The ministry of health recently announced plan to roll out the third round nationwide vaccine drive in the first half of June.

The previous two helped the nation to administer close to 29.45mln doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

More than 24.5 million people are also fully vaccinated against the coronavirus since the first vaccine shot was given in Ethiopia in March 2021.
