Ethiopia Logs Zero Covid Deaths for two 12 Consecutive Days

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has zero Coronavirus related fatalities for two consecutive weeks, data from the ministry of health shows.

The Ministry reported zero Covid 19 related fatalities again on Monday as the national death toll stays at 7, 510.



The nation last recorded a Coronavirus-induced fatality twelve days ago, on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.

The Ministry has also confirmed six new cases from nearly 2, 000 Coronavirus tests conducted in the 24-hours, while 8 patients recover from the disease in the same period.

Ethiopia now has 7684 confirmed active cases of Covid-19. Eleven of them are severely sick, the health ministry reports.

The pace of the national vaccination campaign is still at a standstill with the ministry of health report showing no Covid-19 vaccine was given to the public in the past 24-hours.



The nation has administered nearly 29.4 million COVID-19 vaccine doses while more than 24.5 million of its citizens are fully vaccinated.

The national vaccine drive started a year after health officials recorded Ethiopia’s first Coronavirus case in March, 2020. To date, Ethiopia has confirmed 470, 587 infections, and 455, 391 recoveries.
