There are now 9, 131 confirmed active cases in the country. Of these, 21 patients are severely sick and are receiving treatments in ICU, the report indicates.

– Vaccine Drive at a standstill –

The Ministry conducted two rounds of nationwide Covid-19 vaccination campaigns, which increased coverage significantly.

The two rounds propelled the vaccine shots administered in the nation to over 29.41 million. More than 24.5 million Ethiopians are also fully vaccinated against the virus.

However, the vaccination pace has recently stagnated with no shots of the Covid-19 vaccine administered in the past week including today as per the updates from the Ministry.

Ethiopia confirmed its first Coronavirus case in March, 2020. Since then, it has reported 470, 288 infections and 453, 646 recoveries.
