Zero Covid-19 Deaths Recorded for Four Days in a row

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded zero Covid-19 disease related fatalities for four consecutive days as active cases continue to drop, a ministry of health report reveals.

The death toll remains at 7, 508 after the ministry reported zero Covid-19 death on Friday.



Additional 26 more people have tested positive for the Coronavirus from close to 5,000 tests carried out in the past twenty-four hours, according to today’s report.

The new infections have brought the confirmed cases total in the nation to 470, 005.

At least 981 patients have also recuperated from the disease in the reported period, pushing the recovery count to 453, 523.

The rise in recovery cases coupled with low new infections recorded in recent days helped the nation to bring its confirmed active cases tally down to 8,972.

Eighteen severely patients of Covid-19 are still under supervision in hospitals, according to the report

– Vaccine drive at a standstill –

The Ministry conducted two rounds of nationwide Covid-19 vaccination campaigns, which significantly increased coverage.



The vaccination pace is now at a stand still as the vaccine doses administered in the nation remain the same for two consecutive days.

The ministry of health has given 29.41mln doses of Covid-19 vaccine to the public, so far, and over 24.5 million people are fully vaccinated against the Coronavirus.

The East African nation started giving Covid vaccine to its citizens on March 13, 2021 after receiving 2.2 million doses of vaccine from the COVAX.
