Health Ministry Reports 334 New Covid Cases, 7 Fatalities
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 334 fresh infections of Covid-19 and seven related fatalities on Thursday, a ministry of health report claims.
The new cases were identified after more than 7, 000 tests conducted within the past twenty-four hours.
The report says Ethiopia’s total confirmed cases tally currently stands at 466, 126.
A further seven Coronavirus-induced deaths have been recorded in the reported period, bringing the death toll to 7,353.
There are now 237 severely sick patients of Covid-19 nationwide, the ministry reports. The patients are among the 58,758 confirmed active cases.
Country’s recovery count also reached 400, 013 after as many as 494 patients have recuperated from disease on Thursday.
The ministry of health is strongly urging the public to observe the Covid protocols put in place including wearing face masks and getting vaccinated.
Its vaccine drive, however, has continued to go sluggishly with authorities administering only 14 doses of vaccine in the past 24-hours, as per the Ministry’s report.
The East African nation started providing Covid-19 vaccine to its citizens on March 13, 2021.
To date, it has administered a total of 10,975, 194 doses of vaccine to the public while vaccinating over 9.37 million people, fully..
